The role

You’ll be joining our talented development team – primarily on our React based front-end app. For the most part designs will be provided but your input on UI/UX and any creative skills will be valued. We’re currently overhauling and modernising our entire platform so you will be a key part of making that happen.

Our React app is powered by our REST APIs allowing you to focus on maintaining the JavaScript application and making the front-end as good as possible. You’ll be working under the Head of Product building a close relationship with the back-end team but being able to work independently on the front-end.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking concepts and turning them into high quality user experiences
  • Improving and optimising the existing app whenever possible
  • Developing new areas of the site from scratch
  • Providing your own input on design, UI/UX and new features of the site
  • Producing great code and a product you can be proud of

About You

Key skills

  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies – HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (React or similar frameworks such as Angular/Vue.js)
  • Familiarity with RESTful services and APIs
  • Understanding of version control tools such as Git
  • Producing high quality, responsive and cross-browser compatible output
  • Knowledge of related tools and skills such as Node.js, LESS/SASS and CSS animation
  • Ability to work independently, identifying and solving issues

Other skills we’d love

  • Design skills and knowledge of relevant software (Photoshop, Illustrator etc) with an appreciation for detail, finish, layout and typography
  • An understanding of related areas such as back-end web development and SEO considerations
  • Experience with Conversion Rate Optimisation and UI/UX
